We are grateful to share some encouraging updates in this new GlobalGiving update for you. As always, we want to continue thanking you for your support. It's encouraging for us to know that we are doing this together! In November, our program manager, Ibu Wenda, visited Kupang to see the progress of the project alongside local colleagues. It was encouraging for all of us to hear how passionate the teachers are about implementing the educational materials and how they are exploring ways to truly instil a love for reading in the lives of these children.
One of our main activities supporting this is our mentoring program. We have weekly school visits where teachers receive coaching in various aspects of the teaching profession within their specific context. Normally, teaching can be quite an individual job, so they are very grateful for this additional support. At the same time, this allows us to see how the materials are used in practice, make adjustments based on experiences, and ensure that it really impacts the lives of these children.
Additionally, we are pleased to share one of our plans for the upcoming year. We are likely to provide further training in Kupang in January, which is one of the focus areas of this project. This training aims to support more than 10 teachers in advancing through the next steps of our curriculum, enabling them to effectively implement materials from higher levels.
To support all of this, we keep on looking for ways to expand our partnerships with other organisations involved in this region. If you have any good ideas or connections in this regard, we would love to hear from you. Because together, we believe in a future through education, especially for those in NTT (Eastern Indonesia).
Salam literasi,
Stu Patience
