By Stuart Patience | On behalf of the Saya Suka Membaca team
Dear friend,
Can you imagine how the class reacts when a teacher comes back from a Saya Suka Membaca training? How these children enjoy their reading lessons, how they start to read sentences and they discover how to read books? We are grateful to hear these kinds of joyful stories from the teachers we work with and that they tell how their class is changing because of this material.
We are thankful that last February we had the opportunity to train 37 teachers in East Indonesia! Together with local governments we were able to work together to bring this intervention into local schools and classrooms. This means that a difference will be noticeable in 37 classes: children learn to read and love to read. What a joy and what an impact!
Please know that it doesn't stop at this training. Our team in Kupang also arranges dozens of mentoring visits, were they help teachers in their classrooms to implement the knowledge they have acquired. In this way we ensure the best possible learning experience for teachers and the best possible impact in the lives of these children. And we will continue to do so in the coming months: new mentor visits and new fundraising to train new teachers with this material.
And you can help with that: do you know someone who might also find this project interesting? Let them know!
As always, thank you for your support - it's a privilege to work with you in this work.
