Thanks to the donation granted in the project “Support people with Down syndrome in this pandemic”, in the period of December 16th to April 7th , educational care in distance was provided for 14 students (special primary education). As well, 5 psychological sessions were also provided to parents and students.
We are very happy to share with you that at the beginning of March the students over 18 years of age returned to face-to-face classes, the idea is to gradually add to the other groups.
For this face-to-face return, a group of Infectologists donated a special protocol to the foundation, since the health conditions of people with Down syndrome are different from those of a regular person, therefore, the protocols for returning to school they have to be much more strict and very careful because our population tends to get sick 10 times more than a regular person.
We deeply appreciate your support, which will allow us to continue developing our mission, which is to "promote dignity, human rights, and potential of people with Down syndrome, improving their quality of life".
