Charmaghz Celebrates 1 Million Visits & Other News

By Freshta Karim | Founder

Dear Friends of Charmaghz,

We are so excited to share some big updates with you! We successfully welcomed 1 million visits to our Libraries from Afghan girls and boys since launching in 2018! Thank you for making sure that we could have this type of impact. We are also getting ready to launch two more Bus Libraries, which will operate in areas of Kabul that we have not been previously active in. Additionally, we have launched a new website and a newsletter! You can access the website and sign up to receive our newsletter here.

You have not only helped us reach children with critical education support but are also making a difference within the communities we serve. One such story is of Sayed* and his father. Sayed has been visiting our Libraries for a while now and loves to participate in the learning activities there. Recently, his father sent us a letter thanking us for the difference we are making for his son. He explained that he is happy that Sayed is immersed in books and learning instead of roaming the potentially dangerous streets. The letter he wrote was written in the form of Nastliq writing, which is a poetic form of writing that often takes time. His expression of gratitude over our efforts to create safe spaces for children truly touched the hearts of our team.

I wanted to share Sayed and his father’s story with you as an example of how your support creates safe and beautiful spaces for children to freely express themselves and learn. Additionally, you ensure that communities and parents know that their children are not only receiving critical education support but also a safe space to learn and grow.

Thank you on behalf of myself and the Charmaghz team for all of your support!

Warm Regards,

Freshta Karim

P.S. If you would like to ensure more children have access to our Libraries please consider signing up to be a monthly donor!
