Update on The Changemaker Program: STEM Focus

By Lauren Fine | Co-Founder

Dear GEC Friends and Supporters,

Warm greetings from all of us at the Global Education Center! We hope this update finds you enjoying a wonderful summer. We wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news about our recent Changemaker Programming, which focused on the captivating world of STEM.

Throughout the month, our students delved into a wide array of activities, experiences, and future planning, all centered around STEM education. We are thrilled to highlight a few of the standout moments from this incredible month of exploration and growth.

One of the major highlights was the opportunity for our students to engage with professionals working in various STEM fields. We organized presentations and Q&A sessions, allowing our students to interact directly with experts who shared their experiences and knowledge. These interactions were immensely valuable, offering our students a glimpse into the real-world applications of STEM and inspiring them to dream big.

A particularly memorable event was our visit to the Science Festival, known as SciFest. This extraordinary gathering was organized by the GHScientific Organization in collaboration with the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra, Ghana. Students from across the country came together to celebrate the wonders of science and enhance their STEM learning experiences. At SciFest, our students had the opportunity to participate in a range of activities, including career talks, museum tours, science experiments, demonstrations, and research poster presentations. The festival sparked their scientific curiosity and provided them with practical and hands-on experiences that deepened their understanding of various scientific fields.

Our students expressed their enthusiasm for the Science Festival, recounting their favorite moments and discoveries. Many of them mentioned the joy of exploring different exhibition stands where they witnessed captivating demonstrations and gained a deeper understanding of various scientific disciplines. One student shared their excitement about a robotics workshop conducted by the Inov-Tech firm, where they had the chance to build robots with their own hands. Another memorable highlight was the introduction to drones, showcasing their applications and the fascinating world of GPS tracking.

We are immensely proud of our students' engagement and their passion for STEM. It was a joyous experience for us to witness their curiosity ignited and their interest in pursuing STEM careers flourishing. The impact of this month's activities has been profound, with numerous students expressing a keen desire to further explore and excel in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support and belief in our mission. Your contributions have helped us provide these enriching experiences and open doors to new possibilities for our students. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and partnership in creating a brighter future for these aspiring young changemakers.

As we move forward, we remain committed to empowering students through quality education and inspiring programs. Together, we can continue cultivating a love for learning, spark curiosity, and guide our students toward fulfilling their dreams.

Thank you once again for your invaluable support. We are truly grateful for your dedication and belief in our mission.

With heartfelt appreciation,

The GEC Team
