Cataract is responsible for about 51% blindness cases worldwide, making it the most common cause of blindness according to data from the World Health Organization.
The situation in Pakistan is not promising either, with millions of patients undergoing cataract surgery each year. Education and understanding of eye care in Pakistan and developing countries are lagging far behind.
Fatima Memorial Hospital established this department in year 2000 with state of the art ophthalmic diagnostic and therapeutic equipment such as operating microscopes, Phaco-emulsification and micro incision procedures are performed as a routine in the department of ophthalmology.
We receive a healthy number of patients and we are unable to cater to all of them; because of which, we require your support to enhance our infrastructure subsequent to which these underprivileged will be able to gain their lost sight.
We once again request you to continue with your support and help us in making this program grow to every corner of Pakistan.
Thank you for your continued support!
