We are pleased to share with you the latest progress on our Community Health Worker (CHW) training project in Karachi. Thanks to your generous support, we have made significant strides in empowering CHWs and strengthening local healthcare delivery.
We have successfully completed two training sessions for CHWs and their trainers from IHRI in Karachi. In total, 31 CHWs and 6 trainers have been trained on MAITS packages, equipping them with vital skills to improve community health outcomes. The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) data upload is progressing well; so far we have received 48 baseline forms, 30 Review 1 forms, 33 Review 2 forms; 15 Review 3 forms, 12 Review 4 forms and 10 Review 5 forms. Ongoing reminders are in place to ensure timely submission of outstanding forms. Despite the challenges of continuous data administration and the need for frequent follow-ups, we are maintaining steady momentum.
In addition to the training sessions, we have conducted three post-training visits, building on the insights gained from our initial visit before partnering with IHRI. These follow-ups have been instrumental in reinforcing the training content and addressing any emerging challenges.
We have made a slight adjustment to our schedule for Batch 3 training. Originally planned for late February 2025, we have rescheduled it to accommodate local polio campaigns in February and the reduced working hours during Ramadan in March. We now plan to commence Batch 3 training in the second week of April 2025. This change will allow us to maximise participation and ensure the effectiveness of the training.
Your support continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of CHWs and the communities they serve. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to this important work and look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
Thank you for standing with us on this journey.
Best wishes from the MAITS team.
