By Sadia Mirza | Director of Operations
Dear Readers,
With your support, MAITS has been able to extend our reach in Pakistan from Sindh to Punjab province. Our Director of Operations is visiting current and prospective partner organisations in Pakistan in August.
We conducted a small celebration to appreciate our 13 community health workers and two trainers who have now completed a year long commitment by supporting 50 families with special needs children in Hyderabad, Karachi. MAITS conducted interviews with our mighty work force in Hyderabad to understanc local challenges and brain storm solutions.
Our Community Health Worker, Shoaib took MAITS to meet with Subhan, a 12-year-old boy with #leprosy, and he lives in Landhi, #Karachi with his parents and 3 siblings. Subhan and his mother are supported by Shoaib, a very enthusiastic Community Health Worker from Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre - MALC.
After receiving training from MAITS, Shoaib taught positioning techniques to Subhan’s mother. Just within 3 months of training, Subhan can now stand without any aid.
Subhan loves to hold the #Pakistani flag and play with his siblings.
NEW Partnership!
Our Director of Operation, Sadia Mirza, has recently visited HANDS Pakistan to sign off a one-year partnership. MAITS will train 50 Marvi workers in Pakistan in three different cities; Karachi, Hyderabad and Multan.
A more detailed report will be released in the coming months.
Thanks for the continual support!
MAITS Team
