Project Report | Nov 10, 2022
Progress Report July-September 2022

By Susanna Tadevosyan | Project Leader

The project has a little progress in raising funds for 30 youth with disabilities in Tavush marz to become financially and socially self-sufficient and independent in their communities. With the support of Armenian foundation of professional education and training two months of hands-on training course was conducted to 30 youth with disabilities in remote villages of Tavush on Bee Hive Components, Honey Production, Packaging/Honey processing, Marketing/Pricing, Money Management. Most of the training sessions have been followed by practical elements under the expert’s supervision in the place where the hives are placed. The youth learnt how to work with bees, how to maintain honey quality, how to separate honey from beeswax, how to render beeswax, how to manufacture secondary products and how to make beekeeping clothes and equipment. With equipped knowledge in beekeeping the young men and women with disabilities feel inspired to start their collective business in beekeeping. Currently we are looking for funds from institutional, individual and corporate donors to support these trained youth to purchase the most important inventory, supplies and equipment for beekeeping and to earn for living and dignified life.

To reach to our final goal we still look for about 25000 USD from our donors and philanthropists. If we will succeed in our fundraising before the spring 2023 than since Mach 2023 30 empowered young people with disabilities from 8 rural communities of Berd, Noyemberyan, Ijevan and Dilijan regions will become fully involved in beekeeping business.
