Chen is an 8 year old boy and a star student who is often praised by his teachers and classmates. However, his family situation is difficult. His parents are divorced migrant workers, so Chen lives with his 60-year-old grandfather in Zhongshan Village. He takes care of his grandfather and his four siblings, but is struggling since their family's financial obstacles have only been exacerbated by the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. As such, he is unable to focus on his education, making higher educational attainment difficult despite his hard work and dedication.
Millions of children in rural China are trapped within a cycle of poverty that consists of inadequate education and unsupported childhoods. The Education For All Foundation’s operations create hope for our students by giving them previously unavailable tools to succeed in life. By acquiring English literacy, gaining emotional maturity, and learning soft skills such as problem-solving, we strive towards our vision to provide equal opportunities in life to all those who need it.
For China's 'left-behind-children' like Chen, $2 USD is enough to fund one day of school. Just one day of education can provide a lifetime of opportunities to break free from the poverty cycle, and your donations have currently funded over 10,000+ days of education for our students.
The Education For All Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since our establishment in 2018, we have always accompanied impoverished children, families, and communities in China, providing financial assistance and various teaching resources. Currently, the Education For All Foundation teaches weekly English lessons to 1500+ children from 14 schools in rural China, and our trained volunteers also provide emotional mentorship/guidance to at-risk students.
The unprecedented circumstances of the past year have been difficult, especially for our underprivileged students in rural China. They and their families have struggled more than ever with a multitude of financial obstacles, but your generosity has been a huge source of support and comfort. It is people like you that make it possible for them to receive not only basic living necessities, but also an empowering educational experience! Thank you for joining us in empowering the left-behind, one child at a time!
