Quick response:

ADWAN has been working to improve healthcare for underserved communities in partnership with local health posts and municipal governments of Nepal in this critical situation due to the COVID-19 second variant. ADWAN operates remote areas because the second variant hit seriously in remote areas than urban. Board and its staffs always stands for the needful people and mobilize in field to save life of people from coronavirus infection with the deep partnership with rural health posts and the with keen support of Female Community Health Workers (FCHWs).

Emergency support:

The needs and priorities are changed in this year comparison to the last year because the infection rapidly increased in rural areas than urban. We realized the fact of high infection rate in rural areas are; lack of knowledge in cure and care, lack of the hospitals, lack of the basic medicine in local health post, low or no interest of central government in such the needful time. ADWAN thinking that; to save the life of people become as responsible of NGOs so that we sat on discussion with the authorities of local government and chief of the health post and decided to distribute medicines and safety tools in first phase then food items. Then ADWAN start to talk with its donors for emergency support to save the life of poor people from the coronavirus infection.

With the financial support of the GlobalGiving, ADWAN bought the medicines and safety tools and distributed to the local health posts in presence of local authorities. We (ADWAN, Local Government and Health Centers) agreed to mobilize Female Community Health Volunteers to deliver medicine and safety tools to the community people. The communities, those far-long from the health centers are provided medicine and safety tools through ward members and related health volunteers. In this string we, distributed the medicines and safety item. The following table contains necessary information about emergency relief activities at Gorkha district.
