Support Children's Literacy in Afghanistan

Dear Friends of Charmaghz,

I want to share with you that in the last few months, your support has been critical in providing books and literacy to Afghan children. With schools re-starting in March you ensured that we could reach children, both enrolled and not enrolled in school, with the educational support they need. Additionally, you helped us provide needed mental health support to each child who visits our Libraries. We are so thankful for you!

Through your support, we facilitate 3,000 visits per day from children across Kabul. This year we anticipate that we will celebrate over 1 million visits to our Libraries since 2018. None of this is possible without you. 

Currently, we are working on completing a Van Library that will be equipped with desks and chairs for children to use. Our Buses already have this design but this will be the first time we test this design in our smaller Van Libraries, which are often used to access harder-to-reach areas of Kabul. We want children to feel seen and supported in all of our efforts and giving them these safe and welcoming environments is crucial.
