Support Children's Literacy in Afghanistan

Dear Friends of Charmaghz,

As we begin 2024, we reflect on the challenges and accomplishments of the past year. Thanks to your support we will enter 2024 with a renewed commitment to sustaining our work and growing it, so that more children may have the opportunity to access a positive learning environment.

A few accomplishments I would like to share, that are only possible because of you, are the following:

• We now have 31 Mobile Libraries that are fully operational! This includes five Bus Libraries, six Van Libraries, and 20 Library Boxes.
• Our team has grown and we are proud that 80% of our staff is female, and all Libraries are staffed by trained female Librarians.
• 2023 marked half a million visits by children to our Libraries since 2018.
• In 2023 we averaged 3,000 visits per day to our Mobile Libraries, with 54% of those visits made by girls.
• Through our Library Boxes, we were able to operate in 54 public schools and engage children who had not yet interacted with Charmaghz.

All of this is only possible through your generous support and we are so thankful for you!

I would also like to share that not only did you help us make an impact in the lives of children, but also within the lives of our team and community. One of our Librarians recently shared with us the following:

“I witnessed students become more engaged in their studies, and saw how Charmgahz collaborated with teachers to create a supportive educational environment. I can say Charmaghz not only transformed my life but also empowered numerous children and families. Thanks to the support and resources provided by Charmaghz, I am able to realize my dreams, bring about positive change, and continue on my path of making education more accessible for all.”
