We have been working hard to provide our beneficiaries with skills and knowledge to enhance their competence on labour market. To ensure the sustainability of after rehabilitation, the young women/mothers and girls were trained on how they can use various forms of arts to build their bright future and be able create their own employment instead sitting idle while waiting for paid employment.
We have conducted trainings on performing arts. All the children have been trained on dance, music and theatre. The hired professionals in the field of acting, helped our beneficiaries to find out what they can do and how best performing arts can change one’s life by generating income.
As result, 7 children have chosen to perform in the theatre acted out during the official opening of our youth clinic known as ‘‘Imirasire Youth Clinic and Laboratory’’ which coincided with the reintegration of former Centre Marembo beneficiaries who had been under rehabilitation program.
Through the training, we came to found a club for drama, theatre and other various performances which will regularly involve the children in center in the theatrical performance, aiming at talent detection and development.
Apart from performing arts, we have also trained our girls in visual arts mainly in its part of drawing and painting. We plan to extend arts trainings in other forms like ceramics, design, photography, craft, filmmaking and videos.
