Support 5 female deaf for hairdressing & salon

MPWDA  managed to enroll one deaf girl for hair dressing and she is progressing well. She has learnt how to use the hair dryer, washing customer hair, customer care and some plaiting. She attends every day and the care taker is also very supportive. She had only one challenge at the beggining and that was communication with the trainer and the customers. But she has picked and they can now communicate and understand each other.

MPWDA would like to enroll 3 more deaf girls so that the saloon starts with four deaf girls.

We are requesting for more support to this cause. We belielve that if given skills and capital to start the saloon business, the deaf girls can be able to get income, lead independent and dignified lives.

MPWDA has been able to identify the five girls with hearing impairment (deaf) who are willing to learn hair dressing and then after start a joint saloon. All the five girls understand sign language, they can read and write and still energetic to handle and manage the saloon business to get income so that they can lead indepenedent lives.

They plan to start the saloon in Mpigi town, the biggest town in Mpigi district which is also near the distirct headqaurters and office of Mpigi Women with Disabilities Association for easy monitoring.

We have much hope that diffrent friends will donate to enable these girls achieve thier dream.
