Centro de Atencion para el Autism Alex IAP provides the integration of children with autism, encourages diagnosis and timely intervention through different therapies to apply inclusion at home, school and community. Educates parents on how to apply these strategies at home and create a suitable environment for the child. Provides conferences in schools and in the community, to raises awareness among the general population favoring the inclusion and independence of children with the autism.
Current situation of Covi-19 has changed our ability to provide our service and education to our children. In Zitacuaro Michoacan children with autism don't have access to regular schools and therapies they need. No access to community services and social interaction causes difficultly as well. Families lack of information, resources, and strategies on rising a child with autism causes abuse and violence within the family. Community don't understand the behavior of the child and discriminate.
Providing children with autism with social skills, better and appropriate communication skills, increases attention, reduces inappropriate behaviors and anxiety, and improve interaction with family and community. Directly working with families in training and educating them with the different types of behaviors within the autism spectrum. Committed to raising awareness among the community with conferences to reduces prejudices and discrimination and promotes full inclusion in our society.
Alex IAP goal is to have its children with autism be able to exercise their rights, to be included in schools and community by promoting a productive, inclusive and independent adult life. We believe that all children with autism should have the opportunity to live with the highest level of dignity and social acceptances with in our community.
