2025 begins with new ideas and projects at Punto Crea

Representatives of Punto Crea participated in the 14th Annual Symposium of the mEducation Alliance (https://meducationalliance.org/), held in Washington DC in October 2024. This is the largest call for development agencies, donors, non-profit organizations, private sector associations and other institutions aiming for a sustainable and evidence-based incorporation of technology into education. The Symposium, which was focused on STEMtastic Adventures, allowed us to share experiences in STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) and reflect on the work that -thanks to your support- we develop in indigenous and rural communities in Guatemala.

We realized that – unlike other STEAM projects – Punto Crea places special emphasis on the human component of youth development, which makes it possible for the knowledge acquired to be transferred to volunteer work that they carry out in their communities. The knowledge, values acquired and work in the community are nurtured in a virtuous circle that strengthens the leadership of the young people we work with.

During the symposium we also learned strategies that we can implement in Guatemala, such as the creation of Punto Crea seedbeds in primary schools. If we continue to have your support, we plan to develop STEAM experiments and festivals aimed at children in fifth and sixth grades of elementary school and promote the participation of children and young people in STEAM events outside their communities.

Our sincere thanks to the friends of Punto Crea who contribute to making possible our participation in this type of events and, more importantly, to implement these new initiatives for the benefit of Guatemalan youth and the communities where they reside.
