El 4 de febrero la municipalidad de Totonicapán, en el departamento de Totonicapán, suscribió el acta de respaldo al Comité Comunitario de Punto Crea en dicha comunidad.

¿Por qué importa?

• La apropiación comunitaria es lo que garantiza que Punto Crea sirva a los jóvenes de una comunidad. Si los líderes y miembros de la comunidad creen en Punto Crea, ellos mismos se asegurarán de que funcione y que las chicas y los chicos asistan a nuestras actividades.

¿Cómo ayudó tu donación a conseguir esto?

• Con el financiamiento recaudado pudimos cubrir el tiempo de nuestros facilitadores de campo para trabajar con los líderes comunitarios y autoridades municipales que llevaron a este acuerdo.

¿Y ahora qué debemos hacer?

• A nosotros nos toca colaborar muy de cerca con los miembros del Comité Comunitario de Punto Crea, para que se involucren en planificar las actividades y en buscar recursos financieros y materiales para hacer sostenible su Punto Crea.
• Tú puedes seguir apoyando Punto Crea, que son tus recursos los que permiten que el equipo de campo siga operando y visitando comunidades:

On February 4 the Municipality of Totonicapán, in the department of Totonicapán, Guatemala, signed an agreement supporting the Punto Crea Community Committe in that community.

Why is this important?

• Community ownership is what will guarantee that Punto Crea helps youth in a community. If its leaders believe in Punto Crea, they themselves will ensure that Punto Crea operates and that youth attend our activities.

How did your donation help?

• With funding collected so far we were able to cover the time of our field facilitators to work with community leaders and municipal authorities in securing this agreement.

Now what?

• Now we must work closely with the members of the Community Committee in Totonicapan to involve them in planning work and in raising funds and other material support that will make Punto Crea sustainable there.
• You can continue to help Punto Crea. It is your resources that let the team operate and visit communities:
