It's been a quick sprint to the middle of the school year! As is common the Midyear exams were a big deal and several of our children found them hard. Many of our kids, and kids from hard starts, find the pressure of formal examinations extremely intimidating and as a result they battle to perform well.
To help them achieve better we would like to support them in doing a study skills module. We will be looking for ways to put this in place as soon as funds allow.
One of our foundation phase learners has been recommended for Special education due to severe learning challenges that are becoming more apparent. She will need additional funding as the government does not have a school appropriate for her within our district and we would have to seek out a small, specialised, remedial school.
Many of our children participate in sports and in fact one of our young ladies has qualified and been selected to represent our Province in the upcoming National competition! We are very excited.
We will send further updates in a little while to let you know how things are looking!
