Dear Friend,
Wondrous things happen when people come together with a shared purpose to make an impact. As the new year begins, Aasraa and its family look to the future with hope and fresh goals, while reflecting on the past year with an incredible sense of achievement and joy.
In this update, as we look back on what we have accomplished together, we are delighted to invite you to witness and celebrate these achievements with us.
The past year was filled with milestones, all made possible by the incredible efforts of our staff, who come together each day with a commitment to impact the lives of children and youth who look to us with hope and dreams in their eyes.
It goes without saying that none of this would have been possible without the extraordinary individuals and organizations who have joined hands with us, providing the resources to make this impact. We offer a deep and heartfelt thanks to all the donors and supporters who help us make the world a better place for each child under Aasraa's care.
SkillAbility, Aasraa’s Skills Training Centre, one of our newest and most exciting initiatives, has launched two new skill verticals to train young individuals for gainful employment, bringing the total number of courses to six.
The DOJO Lab: This job-oriented training vertical focuses on assembly line operations and prepares trainees for employment in the manufacturing industry. With 26 youths enrolled, 10 have already secured jobs.
The Two-Wheeler Repair and Maintenance Lab: With rising demand in the after-sales service sector for two- and three-wheelers, this lab offers hands-on vehicle repair and maintenance training to young individuals. Currently, 11 youths are undergoing training at the centre.
Aasraa's School Quality Enhancement Program (SQEP) continues to work towards improving the standards of education in government and government-aided schools across Uttarakhand. Over the past year, we added 5 schools to our cohort of 14, bringing the total to 19 schools. This expansion aims to mainstream more children into these schools and provide them with quality education. This initiave is currently impacting over 4,000 children.
Aasraa is also promoting STEM education, in alignment with India’s National Education Policy, by bringing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts to the grassroots level. This year, we established 4 new STEM labs in government partner schools, as we believe it is crucial to introduce this curriculum in primary and upper-primary schools to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills at an early age. These labs are currently benefiting over 350 children in these schools.

Aasraa believes that higher education creates a multiplier effect that benefits entire communities. This year, we awarded 71 scholarships to girls in one of our programs in the Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, India. These scholarships provide the children we work with a bright future and an opportunity to continue their education, bringing tangible impacts into their lives and empowering them with hope and dreams of a better tomorrow.
Thank you for your continued support in making all of this possible. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of countless children and their communities.
