Safe Water Sports, the Organization that promotes safety in the aquatic environment, has opened its doors to the schools in order to facilitate educational visits at its promises. Precisely, the Organization has officially launched ''Ocean Lab'' an educational, interactive place where students are invited at no cost to attend a two-hour interactive kind of lesson through technologically based games.
For the school year of 2022-2023 more than 5.363 students visited Ocean Lab where they learned about their safety in the water through the use of technology. The Organization managed to win the Gold Award at the Education Leaders Awards 2023 regrarding the educational visits of students and schools at Ocean Lab.
Since John Latsis Foundation supports this action by covering the transportation cost of all students from primary or high schools located in the region of Athens, we do plan and hope for the next year to reach more than 5000 students but also to create
digital or even physical ''Ocean Labs'' throughout Greece!
Additionally, the Organization presented the 3rd annual statistical report presenting that 379 people lost their lives at sea in 2022. Since the numbers are really high we truly believe that the education should start from a very earling point even at babies through the Safe Swimming Program the Organization has created that addresses to babies up to children of 12 years of of age.
