A. Garcia. And M. Garcia, are two sisters of 7 and 4 years old respectively, both arrived with anemia and malnutrition rates at the Crecemos DIJO Community Center; thanks to your donation they have regain their health in just one month.
With your support through GlobalGiving, not only has it been possible to continue guaranteeing enough food for more than 100 children like the García sisters to improve their nutritional condition, but also to provide them with nutritional education workshops so that they can learn to enchance their eating habits.
Monday through Friday mornings, the "Maria de Guadalupe" Community Center opens its doors to welcome children and provide them with nutritious and balanced breakfasts so that they can attend classes with a full stomach and their only concern during their school day is the acquisition of knowledge.
The project has also helped parents to prepare balanced and nutritious meals with low-cost products, such as beans or rice as an alternative source of protein for families who do not have the necessary resources to buy meat, chicken or fish. In this way, we ensure that children also have the daily food nutritional intake necessary for their full development and have the energy they need to focus on their classes.
