Kangudia is a human rights activist living in the Kasai region of the DRC. Thanks to generous donors like you, she was trained by ActionAid to act as a paralegal for the communities affected by the Kasai conflict.
ActionAid, in collaboration with the Congolese National Police (PNC) and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), has trained 40 paralegals in Kasai Oriental and Kasai Central Provinces of the DRC.
“I help village men and women demand justice when they face any violation of human rights, for example sexual gender-based violence. I provide the information on what the law says about the situation they are facing,” Kangudia shared.
Over the past two years in the DRC, thousands of people were displaced by violence between militia. In the midst of this crisis, the community saw an increase in gender-based violence. People like Kangudia stepped up to find justice and healing for survivors of violence.
Through your support, the work continues. ActionAid is helping activists in the DRC

Thank you.
