Dear friends,
We have had a marvelous month full of events for children from ten communities and we THANK YOU for helping make this possible.
For starters, the author of the book, "Las Luciernagas no Vuelan" was able to join us for a second time in March. Pedro Antonio Garcia had come in November for five school events and this time he visited two more schools. The children were ecstatic!
To top it off, over 350 children saw the opera on which the book is based, at the San Miguel Playhouse in March which was a very exciting and unique experience. The shows were of course free for all and included transportation and snacks.
Never before have we been able to offer children the chance to see a musical performance based on a book and the result was incredible and memorable.
We thank our volunteers, the teachers we work with, all the musicians who came from Mexico City, and our supporters for funding these dreams.
