Dear Hogar Bambi supporters,
The children we receive at Hogar Bambi Venezuela generally arrive with critical underlying
health conditions ranging from congenital disease, infection, and malnutrition, exacerbated
by weak immune systems. These children tend to be below average weight and height and
lack access to lifesaving vaccines and pediatric care. Many have been victims of physical and
psychological abuse and exhibit attention and learning deficits. Against this complex
backdrop, compounded by limited access to basic goods and services, we here at Hogar
Bambi do everything possible to guarantee opportunities in their lives, and provide food
clothing, pediatric attention, psychological support, education inclusion, recreation, culture
and last but not least, sports.
Over the course of 2021, 84 children and school-going adolescents sheltered in Hogar Bambi
had the opportunity of participating in swimming lessons to explore and unlock new skills.
This extracurricular activity has favored coordination, psychomotor development and agility
in our children and adolescents, as well as social integration and camaraderie which has
translated in better school performance and emotional stability.
Given this, as part of our education program we include extra-curricular sports (swimming),
under the supervision of the Bambi team. We made important strides during 2021 by
establishing a regular routine that we strive to maintain as this enriches their education
from a holistic perspective.
Ultimately, we are striving to offer these children, whose rights have been seriously
violated, quality of life and your support for our Sports for Children projects is invaluable.
We thank you for your support and on we go!
