Globally, Christmas is known as a day of commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ and it’s celebrated worldwide by attending church services, singing Christmas carols, having special Christmas feasts, and giving Christmas presents.
In Uganda, people celebrate Christmas with their families by family members gathering from towns and villages, enjoying the best meals. Some poor families are unable to get those meals due to lack of money. Christmas gifts are not usually a major Christmas tradition here, but some people do share gifts. However, this denies the needy people the chance of enjoying Christmas gift sharing.
Because needy people are unable to celebrate Christmas with best meals and engaging in gift sharing, Another Hope Children’s Ministries (AHCM) decided to start a campaign to contact sponsors of children to help the children and their families get gifts. Children were able to get a Christmas package which included bananas, rice, spaghetti, a hen, G.nuts, bread, cooking oil, beef, and Christmas cake. This made their Christmas enjoyable and memorable.
At AHCM children’s home, children were privileged to get a Christmas gift, and they all also enjoyed a great meal that was prepared by their care takers. It was great to have chicken, beef, rice, bananas, spaghetti, Irish potatoes among other foods. A more special treat was sodas. They enjoyed
a Christmas cake as a family.
In the communities AHCM serve,children/young adults and their families were so grateful for the privilege of celebrating Christmas with a good meal and Christmas gifts. Below are children’s stories
Beneficiary A's story
I am so privileged to be sponsored by Another Hope Children’s Ministries. I was extremely happy being surprised with a Christmas gift of a dress. It’s so nice and makes me look pretty. Getting a Christmas gift and a great meal makes my Christmas memorable, and that makes me feel loved and cared for. Thank you so much our sponsors for loving us. May God richly bless you.
Beneficiary B’s story
I am so grateful to God for the pleasure of being sponsored by AHCM. This Christmas was extremely special because I and my family got a Christmas package which included a hen, a bunch of bananas, rice, spaghetti, bread, salt, sugar, G. Nuts and a Christmas cake. This package helped us to have the best Christmas breakfast and a delicious meal. My family is so thankful to the sponsors for making us feel loved because we had not yet got preparations for Christmas, but through their donations, we got the privilege to have the best.
Thanks for your generosity, and may God bless the works of your hands.
