Dear Donors,
The end of the year is approaching, and we are immensely thankful for all the support and inspiration you have provided to keep impacting the lives of thousands of young Latin American leaders. We hope you enjoy our report!

3. Knowledge Corner: learn more, contribute better!
4. LALA Peru and Mexico Steering Committees: making Hispanic LatAm stronger!
Friends,
Thank you for walking with us. Thanks to you, LALA not only survived the Pandemic but came out stronger: leaner, more innovative, tech-smarter. We launched Virtual Bootcamps, learned to operate a mostly remote team, and were able to bring more financial supporters into the fold! People who before would have requested in-person meetings (in cities all over the continent) decided to trust us from afar. Indeed, we still haven’t met many of you in person! (It still blows our minds).
Despite an exciting pipeline of opportunities our team has been curating with discipline, we still have a gap to goal to close for 2023! Ensuring LALA’s financial sustainability and making sure that this new crisis also makes us stronger are our leadership team’s top priorities.
Let’s connect if we haven't yet this year! We’d love to hear how you’re doing and be able to support you beyond our donation relationship.
Finally, we know we’re having a huge impact. We see it everywhere. But we also realize that we must take our Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning efforts (MEL) to the next level in order to keep opening doors to much more significant local and global institutional funding—the kind that will enable us to scale further. If you are passionate about MEL in our space, we'll gladly share our vision with you in a follow-up conversation as well.
Happy sailing, friends. May we all come out together and stronger from it.
With deepest gratitude,
David and Diego, on behalf of the entire LALA team and community
Our 2023 In-person Camps are back! Two new cohorts of LALíderes made it to Medellín, Colombia, to give life to our first post-pandemic Bootcamps. A team of 20+ facilitators and 20+ external speakers and social innovators gathered to host 45 LALíderes. We wholeheartedly welcome our newest changemakers to LALA, with whom we have officially crossed the threshold of 2,000 LALíderes in the community.
Our online camps continue to be offered, with 8 of them taking place in the month of July. They are offered in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and their nature allows for an even more diverse group of students since the online environment facilitates people from even the most remote places to attend.
Learning never gets old! Take a look at the following selected picks for you to keep broadening your vision and experience in philanthropy and leadership!
Pick 1: 2023 - A Call for Greater Investment in Developing Young Leaders in the Global South by Alia Whitney-Johnson
Start by checking the “2023 - A Call for Greater Investment in Developing Young Leaders in the Global South” report (by our COO, Alia Whitney-Johnson).
Learn how deepening philanthropic partnerships, supporting convening and field alignment, and investing in impact measurement help us deepen the impact and scale of the youth leadership development field.
Pick 2: What’s Next for Education Philanthropy? by International Education Funders Group (IEFG)
Last but not least, visit the “What’s Next for Education Philanthropy?” report, commissioned by the International Education Funders Group (IEFG). Education philanthropy is at an exciting inflection point, where the potential for collaboration and amplified impact through collective action has never been greater.
We want to celebrate and recognize the committed companionship that the newly formed SteerCos of LALA Perú and México are providing to our team. Perú and México are, after Brazil, the two biggest hubs at LALA, and counting with the local vision and advisory of these top Peruvian social entrepreneurs, academics, and corporate leaders is making a huge difference to our expansion strategies in these two geographies.
Thanks for all you do for us!
With appreciation,
The LALA Team
