Hi Friends!
We extend our gratitude for your commitment to helping teen girls be the leaders of today and tomorrow. Thanks to your generous support in this campaign, we have been able to continue championing the empowerment of teen girls in Morocco.
Today we are thrilled to share with you an activity the Soar Girls loved and can't wait to repeat! In the seaside village of Sidi Ifni, the girls had the opportunity to benefit from a surfing course with experienced instructors and other peers. For many of them, proximity to the beach is not synonymous with aquatic activity and, above all, many of them have never gone into the water because of not being able to swim. Thanks to the activity promoted by Project Soar, the Soar Girls were able to first dabble in swimming and then jump into the waves like real surfers!
Due to the fact that Morocco, especially in rural areas, still remains a predominantly patriarchal country, many Soar Girls had never had the opportunity to go that far and spend a day of risk and laughter with their peers. But as Project Soar is teaching “The Soar Girl is confident, has high self-esteem, and respects her own worth and potential. She knows she’s as valuable as a boy.” In fact, they do not miss an opportunity to recite Soar affirmations whenever they can: “I am strong! I am smart! I am capable! I am a leader! I am a Feminist! Girl power!”
We are extremely proud to stand by the side of so many girls across the country and see them grow into strong, confident women, and it is also thanks to you that we are able to continue along this path! By supporting this campaign you are making a real difference!
Warmest wishes,
The Project Soar Team
