When a senior citizen's home comes to mind we often think about how dull life could be there. The name nursing home suggests a boundary where miserable and grumpy adults reside and count their days. But unlike the assumptions, life is pretty much happening at Al-Mustafa's Senior Citizen Home.
Daily Routine
Each day begins with the gentle sounds of morning prayers, fostering a sense of community and spirituality among the residents. By 8 AM, they gather for a wholesome breakfast, after which they diligently attend to their personal spaces, ensuring their beds are made, and maintaining a clean environment.
Once freshened up, the women enjoy a period of fellowship, sharing stories and laughter before lunch is served at 1 PM. Following their midday meal, a short and refreshing nap revitalizes them for the activities ahead. The evenings are filled with warmth, as they gather once again for tea, enjoying each other’s company while engaging in various activities such as watching television or indulging in their hobbies.
Each evening culminates in dinner at 8 PM, followed by prayers, marking the end of a fulfilling day.
Special Contributions
One standout resident, Fatima, plays a crucial role in the daily operation of the home. Fatima is responsible for preparing meals, and with a keen understanding of nutritional needs and preferences, she collaborates with our administrator Ms. Sabahat to decide on the menu, ensuring that every meal is not only delicious but also nutritious.
Hygiene and Cleanliness
Maintaining a clean living space is paramount. Daily cleaning regimens are strictly adhered to, and each woman is encouraged to uphold personal hygiene practices. This not only keeps the home tidy but also fosters a sense of responsibility and pride among the residents.
Events and Activities:
In addition to their daily routines, special events throughout the year have bolstered community spirit:
Al-Mustafa Welfare Society’s senior citizen home maintains a harmonious and vibrant community environment that allows elderly women to thrive. With the continued commitment of residents and staff alike, we look forward to nurturing this positive atmosphere and facilitating further engagement, making each day brighter and each moment cherished. We are dedicated to ensuring that every woman in our care feels valued, respected, and loved.
