Sponsor a child's education for USD 10 per month

The “Mision Huascaran” team wishes you and your loved ones find themselves in good health. These times are challenging, but we face them with optimism and a lot of energy. We continue to advance in our educational project “Sponsor a child's education for USD 10 per month”. We would like to share our progress and thanks for all your support.

The new normal has led us to redefine the ways in which we provide education to children, especially in the rural areas where we work. 

Actions accomplished

1. Meetings with principals to plan 2022 school year.
   1. Utupampa: we started to work in person in the library, twice a week. We coordinated with the teachers and principal with the intention to not disrupt school hours
   2. Congar: we continue supporting teachers and using the school installations.
   3. Punyan: Does not have Ministry authorization to resume school activities (issues with the infrastructure). In 2022 the principal will be welcoming us if they receive authorization from the Ministry.
   4. Pisca: Principal Marlene refuses to give us access to the library. We will work our programs in coordination with the parent’s board and the mayor.
   5. Punyan: We continue with our in-person work every week 
2. During October, we awarded our children with a recognition for surpassing Reading comprehension and literacy goals.
3. Succesful campaign via social media “Donate a school supplies kit for a child”.  Reached goal : 300 kits
4. Math and Communication/literacy materials to be used during 2022 school year
5. BEE READERS new library platform being installed in tablets
6. NEW SCHOOL - Meeting with Pariaqaqa principal and Parents board to set up 2022 action plan for library installation
7. Mental health evaluation to 120 children to set up workshops for emotional support duringt 1^st 2022 trimester
8. We have improved our reach of children from 70% to 95% 
9. 2022 Education project plan ready for implementation. We will expand this program to another 3 schools, we will take care of additional 150 children (335 children in 7 schools)
