Sponsor an underprivileged child for a 2 night/3 day program at Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, to give them a unique opportunity to learn about the importance of wildlife conservation, and how they can make a difference. The children (approx ages of 10 -12 years old), will gain extensive knowledge and experience that they would not normally be exposed to. They learn about the various wildlife conservation projects that we are involved in at HESC. And will take that to their communities.
Education is key to the future preservation of our wildlife. It is important that children are shown the importance of their environment and the wildlife, and how they can make a difference. Many of the children in small rural communities do not get the education that other's may benefit from, which can cause a lack of understanding and appreciation of wildlife conservation.
By exposing young children to the various conservation efforts that HESC is involved with, and teaching them how important it is to make conscientious efforts towards saving endangered species and conserving wildlife.
The project will educate 160 children over a year, who will then take the information back with them into their communities, and influence their families and friends. This will continue to create awareness in the plight of our wildlife.
