Dear Supporter of the Hope House,
This is our first report on the funds we had raised in partnership with GlobalGiving in install 5 Ks of solar power plant to be commissioned at a children’s home called ‘The Hope House’ at Vellore, India.
We set ourselves the goal of raising $8000/- in total (combining all sources including online, offline,) and the funds raised so far is as follows:

How this Solar plant will work: We will install a 5 Kw of Solar panels and connect it to the state grid through an invertor. State will continue to supply power to us. To calculate the power given and power consumed by us, state will use ‘Net Meter’ to calculate the difference. We are intending to produce adequate power that meets all our needs. Along with it, we intend to convert all the lights into LED lights and also to use the induction stoves to make use of the power that we generate.
Conclusion: All the money is expected to arrive into our account by end of November and we have a board meeting on the 26th of October when we will decide to choose a service contractor to install the power plant. We hope to have the power plant commissioned by Christmas.
