This project will help us to feed the kids by lowering electricity costs. In our state, non-profits are required to pay the electricity charges at a commercial rate which is taking the precious money away from children (food for example). Every month, we pay Rs. 10,000/- as the cost of electricity and this saving would help us to pay for 75% of the monthly groceries to feed 20 people each month. Your one time donation supports us to feed the children for an extended period of time.
We are spending too much money on electricity charges because all the non-profits in our state are required to pay at commercial rate which is taking the precious money away from spending on the most important needs of children (food for example).
We have done the electricity analysis and it is estimated that if we install 5.0 Kw of on-grid solar power plant to supplement the existing 1.5 Kw of solar power plant, it will literally bring down our electricity charges to zero and we could use that money saved (we spend approximately Rs. 10,000 each month) to use for something more important such as food and books etc for the children.
We intend to install 'on-grid solar power plant' which has 25 years of warranty (on panels) with very little maintenance. Our state and country is promoting renewable energy sources in a very big way by encouraging institution to install rooftop solar power plants. Our region has intense sun light on average for 310+ days a year and we are very sure to save significant amount of money with this one time investment for an extended period of time
