We are continuing to support YouKiKai in their plight of Abusive Parent Training. In recent efforts, they collected over 30,000 signatures towards making parental training a policy.
In addition to funds raised through GlobalGiving, a total of over $20,000 have been raised for them. We will be having our update meeting this weekend in Nagoya about the status of applying for the Social Impact Bond Program and keep you posted.
In Japan, in 1991 it was the first year it made it law to report abuse of children witnessed. In the first year, 1,500 cases were reported. Not because the number of cases increased but because the number of reporting increased.
Last year over 205,029 child abuse cases were reported. Many have multiple children involved.
We had over 309,178 car accidents last year but many of which were not fatal due to the investment and focus we have put in society on making cars safe.
Why are we not putting the same investment and focus on making children safe?
