With the Spring semester now underway, we reflect on the past year - a journey marked by learning, collaboration, innovation, and success. We’d like to take a moment to celebrate the milestones we achieved in 2024.
In response to the growing demand within the community, we expanded our Social-emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives in 2024, positively impacting 1,064 students across Shanghai, Shaanxi, Henan, and Fujian. Our dedicated trainers and volunteers facilitated 713 lessons, designed to help children recognize, identify, regulate, and express their emotions - both positive and negative. Special attention was given to managing negative emotions, as many children are taught to avoid, suppress, or conceal them, which can hinder emotional growth and resilience.
Our ultimate goal is for students to apply SEL skills in real-life situations, empowering them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. In 2024, we not only focused on students but also extended our support to 25 parents, offering four training sessions to help them better understand and nurture emotional development in their children. This holistic approach equips children with the tools and family support they need to thrive.
This semester, we plan to offer engaging SEL lessons to over 300 under-served students in China.
We sincerely thank all of you - our volunteers, donors, and supporters. Your help is more crucial than ever to ensure the continued sustainability of our programs in 2025.
