It's been hard regardless. We strive on

The project has been very slow this year due to financial constraints we are currently facing. We have not been able to enroll in a new class due to the lack of funds. However, we have been able to continue with our financial literacy classes, where women are taught how to save, invest, and plan for their finances. Through these classes with women from the past classes, we are able to monitor and keep in touch with how their life is progressing.
In continuation, we have been able to ensure the women keep on using the skills gained from the tailoring classes. For example, Florence has been able to establish a small business in her village in the eastern part of Uganda from the skills she gained at Thread of Life Women's Empowerment Ministries. When life became hard for Florence, she opted to relocate to the village with her children, and her only hope was in the marketable tailoring skills she gained while at the organization.
More to that, when Shina dropped out of school due to poverty to help her mother, who does prostitution for a living in the slums, she was opportuned to enroll for our classes and after the training she has been able to support the mother with paying the bills from the skills she gained from the tailoring classes. She says; " I thought I was going to end up like my mother in the prostitution business, but no, all thanks to teacher Florence from Thread of Life women Empowerment Ministries, who came and took me to gain skills in tailoring and sewing". With this, She is able to make baby clothes for sale to make help with the bills at home. Her goal is to be among the big fashion Icon in Uganda.
As an organization, we are committed to changing the women in Uganda, and our classes will be starting in March 2025. The class will run for six months. Our major concern currently is limited funds to run the class.
