The project will be located in Kasese municipal council and it shall have a branch at the Lakesides (Fishing sites). The project is a new one and is meant to support the single mothers/youth of early and forces marriages/divorced in provision of training skills in information, communication and technology (computer skills and other secretarial skills). This has been thought of after researched around and found out that many youth cannot afford to match with the current world.
Most Youth and single women in Kanyangeya Main Cell area lack technical skill that can enable them engage in productive work for income generation. This is as a result of dropping out of school before completing the required levels of education which could enable them get employment. Lack of employment has affected their incomes hence living in poverty situations that leave them remain vulnerable to circumstances like going in for unwanted sex for pay, early and forced marriages & rape crimes.
The lack of a skill training centre has created economic and social strife in regard to youth and women employment and socio-economic empowerment. To address this, we propose to establish and operate a tailoring & computer training centre for the youth and women well equipped with all learning aids, to enhance their skills for self reliance. We will consult with technical people to guide in the operation of the centre and at the same time assist in the actual training of the trainees.
Increased community stability among the youth and women, Increased incomes among the youth and women, Increased self-esteem among the youth and women, Decreased cases of theft, robbery, drug abuse and early marriages, and school dropouts Reduced idleness, redundancy and over dependency by the youth and women.
