Shade for Children General Fund

Our goal for the General Fund is to secure $1000/month in dedicated funding for Shade for Children. Admittedly, we haven't done much to promote the fund. However, we did recently receive a $1000 "offline" gift that hasn't been recorded on this GlobalGiving site.

The fact is, much of our work has been tremendously curtailed since strict quarantine's have been in place at all of the government orphanages since February. We've only been "on-site" at two different orphanages three times since then to deliver humanitarian supplies.

We've worked with our city social service department and one church to deliver groceries and cleaning supplies to families-in-crises in our community but at very little cost for us- just time and gasoline. The supplies were donated by a local church.

We've delivered a box full of table games to a local foster family with 5 children. As you can imagine, they're going crazy being indoors so much. We spent less than $100 for the games.

I (Clinton) have been building a pair of Busy Boards for two of the toddler rooms in a local orphanage. So far I've put quite a bit of time in it and will probably have about $150-$200 in it before I'm finished.

We have been invited to provide an on-site day camp at one of the orphanages if and when the quarantine is lifted, and we're planning a mountain-retreat camp in August.. We have a separate crowdfunding campaign for the camp budget that has raised $2500 of $5000.
