YOU are empowering girls and boys in rural southwest Uganda through education!
Sexual assault is never the survivor's fault but knowing more helps YOUR students recognize danger signs to avoid, better understand their bodies as they start to go through puberty, boundary-setting, assertiveness, and forming healthy relationships.
Trainings have already begun with YOUR girls in Primary 5, 6, and 7 at Nyaka Primary School and there are plans to do trainings with senior one students at Nyaka Vocational Secondary School. Eventually these trainings will be conducted for all of YOUR students.
Nyaka is also partnering with Global Health Corps (GHC) to host an event to encourage wider conversations around reproductive health and sexual assault at Nyaka and in the community as a whole. Nyaka's two amazing Global Health Corps Fellows are coordinating the entire event and inviting GHC Fellows from all over Uganda to lead workshop sessions on sexual assault awareness, healthy relationships, teen pregnancy, and other related topics. Students, teachers, guardians, and community members will all have the opportunity to learn about these important issues.
Thanks to YOU, real change is happening to protect children from sexual assault in southwest Uganda.
Thank YOU!
