Thanks to YOU, Nyaka is able to work towards ending sexual assault!
After one of YOUR primary students was sexually assaulted, Nyaka worked to help her and to ensure that no future children would have to suffer the same trauma.
Nyaka and Kutamba Primary School staff are currently undergoing training to help them better understand sexual assault, why it happens, and how they can be allies for YOUR students in the fight against sexual assault.
Nyaka's board of directors has formed a task force of experienced mental health professionals to strategize ways to better inform the community about sexual assault, develop practices to protect at risk children, and how to protect children who have been sexually assaulted.
Volunteer social workers are currently conducting research in the region with girls, grandmothers, and community stakeholders about their experiences and beliefs about sexual assault. This information will help the task force and Nyaka staff better address the problem.
Nyaka's Founder and Executive Director, Twesigye Jackson Kaguri, is reaching out to successful programs and experts to find best practices to protect children from sexual assault.
YOUR support makes all of these steps possible. Thank you!
