One of the children you have helped tells their story..
"I am Samwely, coming from Monduli, Arusha, I am 11 yrs old and am in standard 2 at Kigwe deaf school.
I was isolated from my own community and family because of my deafness.
I live with my mom as my father rejects me to be a part of his family.
Due to Maasai cultural the disability is a bad sign to the clan of family so they do kill the new born disabled children before they come out.
But they didn't know as I am a deaf until I reach 1.5 yrs old .
No school would take me so I had no one to talk to I always stay with my mom no one else. I could communicate with no one. Then my mum heard about Kigwe school. With help from my local church and generous donors like you I was able to get a uniform and start my studies.
This is my third year here and I can now sign and make conversation with my fellow deaf students and teachers and I have friends here. I am happy to be here and am learning so much.
Thank you so much for supporting deaf children like me".
With gratitude
