Accomplishments to share: Haiti education funding

By Martha McGrath | Director of Development and Communications

3 of the funded Medical students during the year

Students and their families were motivated to succeed over the 2020-2021 school year:

  • 100% of all children and youth successfully completed all classes funded.
  • 68 children and youth completed a year of primary school.
  • 73 youth completed a year of high school.
  • 5 youth completed university-level classes for skills related to high-demand jobsin medical services.
  • 3 youth completed agronomy training.

We recognize the difference made by donors in supporting education for children and youth in vulnerable families in Haiti.

The new school year was to begin during this month. However, due to the hardships experienced during the current time (soaring inflation, gang violence, fuel shortages, etc.), school has been delayed. At the same time, we have an increased number of families needing support in paying school fees for their children.

We would appreciate GlobalGiving supporters continuing to contribute towards education funding for vulnerable children in Haiti. We have 287 children and youth seeking to attend the 2022-2023 school year.

We will report on their progress. We thank you for your support and commitment to a brighter future for Haitian children and families.
