Your impact on children with learning disabilities

Dear donors,

Greetings from Bangalore Baptist Hospital.

As we enter another year of making a difference together, we want to share the impact of your contributions on the lives of children with learning disabilities. Through your generosity, we've provided specialised toys that go beyond play—they inspire growth, resilience, and hope.

A transformative journey

Over 200 children benefited from interactive and sensory toys carefully selected to address their unique challenges this year. These toys have been a gateway to:

  • Improved focus: For children like Mohan, who once struggled with attention, toys such as wooden spirals and animal figurines have become tools for prolonged engagement and joy.
  • Enhanced communication: Many children with speech-language delays use interactive toys to express themselves, paving the way for improved verbal skills.
  • Motor skill development: Toys that encourage fine motor activities have helped children strengthen their hands and fingers, enabling them to perform daily tasks confidently.

Mohan, who experienced delayed speech milestones, struggled to form sentences with two or more words. He also faced challenges focusing on a task for more than five minutes. However, the cognitive spiral toy has transformed his life, helping him stay engaged during interactions with the therapist.

When Maya first joined our programme, she found it challenging to communicate her needs. However, she gradually began responding to stimuli by introducing tactile and sensory toys. Her favourite activity is arranging colourful beads in patterns, a small yet significant step in her cognitive and emotional development.

Her mother shares, "It's like watching a rainbow appear after the rain. These toys have brought Maya out of her shell, and for the first time, we see her smile more often."

Your continued support has lit up pathways for these children to thrive, but much must be done. As we look ahead, we aim to:

  • Expand our toy library to cater to more children across rural areas.

Because of you, children are overcoming challenges, discovering the joy of learning, and exploring the world around them.

We invite you to continue this journey with us, ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to shine.

Gratefully,

Carol
