Send Maya Ixil Youth to University in Guatemala

Since 2018, Evelyn has been part of the Filantropis family with a clear dream: to become a professional nurse. From the very beginning, she proved to be a committed, dedicated young woman with a great passion for serving others.

Thanks to the support she received through the Filantropis scholarship program, Evelyn was able to complete her Associates Degree in Professional Nursing. Her hard work and perseverance led her to earn this technicall diploma, which opened the door to a job opportunity that has changed her life. She is now celebrating her first work anniversary as the Deputy Head of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Regional Hospital of Huehuetenango.

Despite being far from her hometown of Chajul, Evelyn is deeply motivated by her desire to help those who need it most. Her experience at the hospital has allowed her to acquire valuable knowledge and develop skills that she hopes to one day bring back to her community. Her vision is clear: to use her profession to contribute to the well-being of her people in Chajul and to serve as a role model for other young women who dream of a better future.

Today, Evelyn is in her final year of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, proving that with effort, support, and determination, dreams can come true. Her story is an inspiring example of the impact that Filantropis has on young people’s lives, providing them with educational and professional opportunities that transform their futures and the future of their communities.
