By Simon Karanja | Project Leader
Team members of the SEAM project are more than grateful for the help we have received in getting this far.
The project Leader had travelled to another city to complete some previous work but has now returned. All the funds raised during the accelerator phase have been received and are being planned for accordingly. We have currently identified a contractor who is both efficient and affordable to begin construction of the library.
We have also completed designs and identified all the materials that will be used in the construction of the first phase of the library. We have decided to start by putting up a structure worth $3,694 which our contractor has assured us will be possible. The remaining $1500 will be invested by our banker to help create an income stream for the library. This is something that has been discussed with several of the major donors, who have agreed to this plan.
Contributors have continued sending in study material for the children which is being collected and stored. Construction is hoped to begin mid-December, and will continue after the holidays.
In the mean time we are continuing with our outdoor reading and enviromental projects.
