Summary

Underserved Venezuelan communities face challenges in education due to poor school facilities, limited safe water, and lack of technology. Chamos' infrastructure project addresses these needs by upgrading school infrastructure, improving water access, and providing technology. This initiative creates safe, functional spaces that inspire learning, promote growth, and empower students with digital skills for a brighter future in an increasingly digital world.

Challenge

In Venezuela, 82.8% of households live in income poverty (ENCOVI 2023), limiting access to quality education and essential school services, and hindering children's development. Alarmingly, 40% of children miss classes regularly, worsening the educational crisis. Many schools lack basic infrastructure and clean water, affecting students' health, safety, and learning. Without these essentials, children face barriers to breaking the cycle of poverty and building a brighter future.

Solution

This project will transform educational spaces in underserved communities by addressing critical infrastructure needs. A computer lab will equip students with digital tools, fostering academic growth and tech readiness. Improved water systems will ensure clean water access, enhancing health and school attendance. A multifunctional recreation area will support holistic development, creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

Long-Term Impact

This project will create safe, healthy educational spaces that foster the development of current and future generations. Reliable access to clean water will improve students' health and attendance, while integrating technology into learning will provide vital skills to thrive in the digital era. By ensuring these resources are accessible, the initiative aims to empower students to reach their full potential and inspire them to drive positive change within their communities.
