The School for Peace continue to touch lives
By Admin | Admin
Events and curricula developed by the School for Peace continue to touch lives! This August, Palestinian and Israeli mental health professionals met, worked together, and learned from each other during a conference on facilitating to groups in conflict. The conference was filled with workshops, practice sessions, and presentations designed to strengthen participants’ strategies and skill-sets.
This is just one of the many events that the School for Peace develops to target emerging professionals. Whatever their field, the SFP seeks to strengthen participants’ skills and foster a generation of peace-seeking practitioners sensitive to the issues in their world and and better equipped to work with individuals and groups. Meet-ups like this allow these change agents to develop their professional and personal networks, build skills, and increase their capacity to change their world.

Social Media Skills for Women
By Dr. Nava Sonnenshein | Director
![]()
the SFP has initiated a new course for women dealing with social media. The voices of Palestinian and Jewish Israeli women are not sufficiently heard in the field of Arab-Jewish relations and the conflict.
In Israel / Palestine, where public opinion is heavily influenced by both social media and conventional media, the arena is dominated by militant men who dictate a violent and aggressive discourse.
Participants will acquire practical skills for creating social media materials such as videos and posters in order to promote these in the media. Top women journalists have already supported the course and will participate as lecturers.

Creating Change Agents has been the School for Peace (SFP) focus for several years. Working with groups of 40 Jewish and Palestinian professionals in Environment, Urban Planning, Journalism, Health Care, Education and Up-and-Coming Politicians the SFP is working around the clock to renew Israel’s commitment to human rights and social justice among Israeli citizens and neighbors. Now, the first group of USAID –funded Jewish and Palestinian Mental Health professionals held their initial 5 day workshop, the beginning of a year-long program of encounter, learning, action planning and collaborations.
In May, the School for Peace is launching an exciting new 8-month course for Women leading Social Change using Social Media. The course for 40 Jewish and Arab women will focus on the challenges that most deeply affect women and communities.
