When we were kids, we used to dream about summer vacations, the never-ending plans to have fun, go for outings, play with friends from morning to evening, stay awake past 11 P.M., to have whatever amount of ice-creams we wanted. The kids these days may have similar fantasies for summers, but one thing has changed for sure i-e to have loads of screen time. Well, whatever fantasies the children may have made, they all start missing school at the end of summer vacations, yearning to meet friends and teachers. The excitement levels go tremendously high when it's the start of a new academic session right after the summer- break, new books, notebooks, stationery, and new classes for the upcoming session make children happier and more energetic.
It got even more exciting for us since we have achieved a new milestone of 1000 students at Al-Mustafa Academy. It is indeed a great success for Al-Mustafa to provide quality education to 1000 students in a backward area such as Korangi. All the credit goes to the teachers and administration, especially to Ms Amber Arif, the Academy's principal.
The First Day of the New Session
The kids came running to school with happy faces, toothy smiles, giggles and non-stop chatters. The teachers and school administration welcomed them and started the new session with more energy and new hopes.
Activities
Though the past quarter mainly consisted of the summer break, we still managed to have a few exciting activities for students and teachers.
Annual Day
The annual school day is the most important day for a student and the school itself. It is the culmination of the academic year. This day celebration was made for graduating the current grades and promotion to following classes. The extraordinary performers were applauded and given gifts for their achievements.
Parent-Teacher Meeting
This meeting was held on the Annual Day. Teachers and parents discussed together the performances of their children, the hindrances the child may be facing in learning, the ways to increase their child's learning outcomes and the plans for the coming academic session.
Eid Party
Eid is the most celebrated festival in Pakistan; we celebrate Eid with family and friends at home. But when our students returned from Eid vacations, we had a blast together. Teachers and students played games and had lunch together.
Training Workshop for Teachers
The most important thing for any professional is to continuously improve and evolve professionally and personally. Teachers are the ones who have the power to mould children and make or break their personalities. Their grooming and professional development are essential. The summer break is the perfect time for such activities. The principal took this opportunity and arranged a 2-Days Training Workshop for teachers at Al-Mustafa Academy. In the training workshop, the teachers were given new insights on the following topics:
