So far this year, we have been able to reach 71 children with support from Casa Babi Hotel and its guest plus private donors who contributed through the GlobalGiving project page.
The last two children reached are sibblings Yuna (seven years old) and Zulfa (eleven years old). They live in a small village far to the north of Vilankulo town. Their mother passed away and they are cared for by their father who is a subsistence fisherman. Through the support of generous donors, they received backpacks full of supplies, soap for bathing and washing clothes, school uniforms and funds for miscelenous fees the schools often charge. This means that even while their circumstances are challenging, they don't have to worry about whether or not they can go to school and study with pride, dignity and hope along with their peers.
A heartfelt thanks to those who donated. We hope this project finds more support to reach 100 children in 2024!
