The Other Side Foundation School for OVC begun 2020 with a new intake of 50 Orphans and Vulnerable Children in grade 1. A preselection process of interviews including home visits is done to determine that these students are truly orphans or vulnerable coming from families that live from donations and earn less than USD50/month, which hardly gets them by. Our programs nurture OVC from grade 1 to grade 7 through a holistic and grounded values based education, a meal and medical care.

We also sponsor and upskill our teachers. The Phonics by Phone workshop was conducted by an external facilitator Educators International UK in January 2020 in Lusaka Zambia. While each term kicks off with a Refesher course on EHV (Education in Human Values) conducted by our teachers themselves enabling them to review and prepare together the coming term's curriculum together.

We carry on impacting the lives of our students by going on home visits to assess how we can further assist their families through food rations, seed funding, microloans or TOSF vocational training to equip them with a skill, which includes the tailoring program and evening adult education classes for widows and single mothers.

In the last 13 years we have uplifted lives and alleviated poverty in the community that we work in through education, nutrition and medical care. To all donors and potential altruist, we thank you for making a difference in these lives who otherwise go without a meal for days, are unschooled and end up in the streets and rubbish dumps. We are counting on your continuous support and cannot thank you enough for your love and compassion for the less fortunate.
